Gwen + Elijah, a Lighthearted Los Poblanos Engagement

Midwest cuties Elijah and Gwen celebrated their engagement with us at Los Poblanos and it truly made for the most romantic summer evening. These babes’ elegant, yet playful July afternoon was one of our favorites ever.

Gwen and Elijah first met several years while they were both undergrads at Grinnell College in Iowa and really hit it off during an end of the season party for their shared recreational softball team. Ever since, these lovers have been absolutely smitten with one another. After graduation, Elijah and Gwen moved to Chicago where they spent a few years living the big city life before grad school ultimately brought them to the Southwest. While making a new home for themselves here in Albuquerque, these babes have also soaked up all New Mexico has to offer from hiking to camping to rock climbing.

In late 2022, Elijah asked Gwen to marry him in what can only be described as one of the most moving, romantic proposals of the year. While visiting his family in Jacksonville, Florida for the holidays, Elijah took Gwen on a beachside walk during which she found a glass bottle in the sand containing a poem that Elijah had written for her (talk about cinematic!). After she read it, Elijah got down on one knee and officially asked for her hand in marriage (swoon).

These hunnies are planning a Southwestern inspired wedding at La Fonda on the Plaza (complete with lots of bluegrass music and margaritas) for fall of 2024 and we know its going to be the most divine day of all!
