Attention to details on wedding days are definitely one of our favorite things here at Alicia Lucia photography and we can’t help but gush over other wedding vendors who share that same love & passion. Our girl Jessie Baca has coordinated countless weddings and styled shoots here in New Mexico and we’ve been lucky enough to capture so many of her ultra creative, amazingly gorgeous ideas. From pampas grass adorned seating charts at the iconic Santa Fe Opera to the moodiest winter wedding table arrangements at Los Poblanos to incredible Spanish inspired hacienda weddings in the heart of Santa Fe, there isn’t any creation of Jessie’s doing that we haven’t fallen in love with at first sight. We love this talented lady and her endless passion for all things southwestern and beautiful!!!

Jon + Paige, a Colorful Los Poblanos Wedding

Last November we were so beyond thrilled to head back to our favorite Albuquerque gem, Los Poblanos, for an intimate blush-toned wedding with sweet lovers Jon and Paige. Every second of this sweet day was precious and downright magical!

Long before their wedding, Paige let us know that her and Jon wanted a day that would focus less on all of the usual wedding day details and more on their family and close friends from all over the country. For her, the most important part of the day to capture was all of their loved ones celebrating together for the first time which is one of our favorite things to hear from brides!

Even though details weren’t the focus of this incredibly special day, Paige still managed to awe us with her gorgeous, off-the-shoulder, blush wedding gown and absolutely killer, bright florals from our gal pals over at Viva Flora. And, per usual, our girl Genica Lee made sure that this stunning bride looked absolutely angelic on the first day of being a Mrs.

Jon and Paige, you two were an absolute treat to capture, we’re sooo grateful to be a small part of your new beginning! Cheers to you lovely babes!

Randy + Elizabeth, a Santa Fe Opera Wedding

Randy and Elizabeth’s love story may have began in San Francisco (where they currently live with their pup Ryno), but these two traveled all the way to sweet Santa Fe, NM for a simple, yet elegant wedding at the ever iconic Santa Fe Opera.

These two met just over four years ago where they bonded over their mutual love for tacos and coffee and after a few years together, Randy proposed on Thanksgiving Day.

Randy and Elizabeth took destination wedding to a whole new level with the most incredible prep and wedding venues. Elizabeth got ready at the quaint and incredible, Hacienda Rose just off downtown Santa Fe (we’re still swooning over this place’s wonderful New Mexican details and endless adobe architecture). We loved Elizabeth’s effortless yet understated glam wedding day style, from her sleek Monique Lhuillier gown accented with a jeweled BHLDN belt to her glitter encrusted Jimmy Choo pumps, this bride knows how to pull off one of our favorite subtle glamorous looks of the year! Elizabeth also included her grandmother’s turquoise broach (that she had purchased in Santa Fe many years ago) on her bouquet as her something blue. We were so excited to capture their first look at the opera and, of course, explore the wildly enchanting grounds for plenty of stunning romantics.

Besides getting to party at the world famous Santa Fe Opera, Randy and Elizabeth’s guests were also treated to a little Jessie Baca and Viva Flora magic including pashmina wraps to keep out the early October chill, the dreamiest guest seating signage, and all the dusty denim/blush/rose gold table accents for days!

We’ll probably never be over this day or these two babes! Congrats Randy + Elizabeth, you two were an absolute dream.

Real Weddings - Fall Reception Inspiration

As temperatures cool down, wedding color palettes warm up in anticipation for one our favorite seasons, fall!! Autumn weddings have a special place in our hearts, from romantic candle arrangements to moody florals to the coziest of details to touches of crimson just about everywhere, its not hard to see why this season is a fan favorite for couples and photographers alike. Scott + Leanne, a SITE Santa Fe Wedding

Scott and Leanne, aka Hush and LeeLee, aka the coolest/most down to earth couple out there, made it official this past June in Santa Fe, NM. These babes met while playing soccer and the connection was pretty much instant. With a little magic from the one and only Jessie Baca, Scott and Leanne pulled off a killer wedding at the newly opened (but really tho, there were still parts of the gallery that were being constructed— see below) SITE Santa Fe, a contemporary art space, with some of the coolest details around. From personalized coozies, to French fry filled centerpieces, soccer ball cake toppers and dancing to LOVE by rap genius Kendrick Lamar, these two pretty much had something for everyone. LeeLee included a few super sweet, personal details on her wedding day: her mother’s own (insanely gorgeous) wedding veil and her parents’ toasting glasses. And just when we thought that this couple couldn’t be any cooler, Scott’s only request, a fun “dice bet” photo op complete with Mickey’s and some cold hard cash. These lovers set the bar sky high for prioritizing a family centered day while still incorporating their unique and fun style into every detail. We were sooo thrilled to be a part of their day, congrats again to Scott and Leanne! #leeleehush

Duncan + Tatianna, a La Fonda Fall Wedding

On a fairytale October day, Duncan and Tatianna officially tied the knot at one of our treasured Santa Fe venues, La Fonda on the Plaza. It was love at first sight for this sweet couple who met in London and eloped just 10 months later! They decided to celebrate in a big way with an incredible party for all of their loved ones in the bride's home state of New Mexico (officially giving Prince Harry and Meghan Markle competition for the most amazing American /English wedding).

Moody fall florals, a stunning sheath dress, and incredible American Flag/Union Jack cookies made this day one for the books, and one that we'll hold close to our heart. Family and friends from both, all over the United States and England not only experienced the eclectic city of Santa Fe, but they were also treated to the Albuquerque International Ballon Fiesta and a first hand taste of some true New Mexican cuisine.

In the summer of 2018, we were over the moon when one of Tatianna and Duncan's stunning romantic photos, taken in a little hidden Santa Fe alleyway, was selected as the New Mexico Cover of Rocky Mountain Bride! This wedding was also featured by RMB earlier this year as a "Classic Santa Fe Wedding at La Fonda". A huge congrats to these stunners, thank you for letting us be a part of your world for one magical fall day!
