John + Parrish, a Luxurious Santa Fe Wedding
Kindred souls Parrish and John are truly two angels that are meant to be together and their magical Santa Fe wedding was a testament to these cuties’ love and devotion for one another. Everyone who bore witness to this rainy, yet ethereal day knows that the love shared was one for the ages.
John and Parrish met way back in 2016 during a time when neither of them anticipated such a strong connection. Parrish, who had just started pursuing her PhD at Purdue University in Indiana, was visiting friends in Houston when she was introduced to John at a pre-game party. These hunnies immediately hit it off and spent that same evening at Christmas party taking in the views, the drinks, and each other’s company. Realizing how incredible their connection was, John and Parrish spent the next three years visiting each other whenever they could and traveling to new places together. In 2019, the universe threw these lovers a curveball when Parrish received a breast cancer diagnosis, but true to form, John never left her side throughout the entire process. After Parrish completed her treatment in 2020 and was declared cancer free, she moved back to Texas to be with John. Shortly after, John popped the question in 2021 at the Houstonian Hotel under the dreamiest twinkle lights and Parrish, of course, said ‘yes.’
After searching the globe for the perfect place to say “I do”, Parrish and John knew that no place could be better than sweet little Santa Fe, a place where they had spent many special moments together over the years. On the most serene, yet rainy October day, La Posada de Santa Fe provided the perfect backdrop to these lovers’ luxe, elegant, and absolutely show-stopping black and white soirée. Even though, Parrish and John opted out of a first look, the moment they saw each other through the rainfall during their ceremony was truly magical and deeply touching. After making their love official, these hunnies made extra time for portraits and let’s just say that their old Hollywood vibes were nothing short of an absolute day dream to capture (just peep those incredible indoor photos and breathtaking balcony moments). And if the first half of their day wasn’t awe-inspiring enough, John and Parrish threw the ultimate bash complete with a live band, sparkler towers, and the most Great Gatsby-esque champagne tower. These two finished off this marvelous day surrounded by all of their friends and family on the dance floor, truly the most lovely ending to a beyond cinematic day.
We adored the way John and Parrish love each other with a deep, unconditional devotion and we know that together these two are going to make the world around them even more incredible.

2020 - Moments with Alicia Lucia Photography
2020 was by far one of the most challenging years our team has ever faced, yet through all the difficult descisons and make-or-break moments, we still found the light on the other side of it all.
After an intense global pandemic forced our weddings and shoots to a screeching halt, we weren’t sure what to do, but somehow we found a new path and gained a better perspective on our lives, our business, and our community. We found new ways to capture weddings/elopements and support our couples as they navigated this insane year. And we also found even more opportunities to create beauty through styled shoots and portrait sessions. If one thing is sure, 2020 reminded us of why we set out to do what we do in the first place: love. Watching love win over and over and over again this year, despite all of the odds was something to behold. And we once again fell in love with with what we have the immense privilege of doing, capturing those undeniably beautiful moments of pure joy.
The biggest thank you from the bottom of our hearts goes out to every single couple, family, and individual who continually put their trust in us during a year where everything was uncertain, yet everything mattered even more. And to all of our vendor friends, thank you for riding this one out with us, we’ve never had so much faith in the wedding community as we do right here and now.
No year will ever be quite like 2020, and while we’re grateful to see beacons of hope at start of the new year, we’re forever be grateful for the year that gave us all a chance to start anew and to believe in the magic that is love.

Elopement Inspo - a 90s Romeo + Juliet Styled Elopement
We’ve spent a whole lot of time this year out in the deserts of New Mexico with our couples, so at the end of summer we decided to switch up our scenery a bit with one of the raddest elopement shoots we’ve ever done.
Inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s iconic 90s rendition of Romeo + Juliet (you know, the one with you Leo DiCaprio and Claire Danes), we created a little styled elopement with all of the romance, edge, and distinctive wedding style. We found a bunch of little gems in the heart of Downtown Albuquerque that had both that classic, romantic vibe along with those pops of color and one-of-a-kind features (especially the most perfect angel wing mural by our talented friend PAZ). We combined chic, simple bridal details including a sleek, modern Lulus gown and the dreamiest bridal glam by Santiago Romero and Betty Rose by Alanna alongside some truly unique touches such as an incredible white-floral groom’s top and that insanely colorful bouquet by Renegade Floral for an elopement look like we’ve never done before.
From zooming around to the coolest little locations to sneaking onto a rooftop to getting caught in a late-August rain, this evening truly felt like it was straight out of a film.

Wedding Inspo - Bridal Bouquets
Wedding trends may come and go, but one thing that’s here to stay forever are dreamy bridal bouquets! We see a ton of these beauties each season and they come in just about every style, from the chic romantic arrangements to the wild boho stunners to larger-than-life ultra colorful varieties. We’re not history buffs, but we wanted to share just a few of our favorite facts about bridal bouquets!!!
The tradition of brides carrying bouquets down the aisle (and, in our case, all over) on wedding days stems back to ancient Roman times. Back then, bouquets were not only made of herbs, spices, and grains, but they were thought to ward off evil spirits and signify new beginnings. However, more modern floral bouquets didn’t pop up in the wedding scene until the mid 1800s during the Victorian era and tended to only include roses (we can’t deny how much we love this stunner of a flower). During this time period, sending specific flowers (based on their meanings) to a lover became increasingly popular, leading many brides to pick flowers for their bridal bouquets that best reflected their ideals.
Flashing forward to the 21st century and bridal bouquets come in soooo many amazing colors, varieties, and sizes that we’re truly overwhelmed by all the beauty! We can’t wait to see what new twists our 2020 brides will take with their own florals. Cheers to hundreds of more insanely beautiful bouquets!!!

Wedding Inspo - Sheath Bridal Gowns
If there’s one current wedding trend that we can’t get enough of, its how popular sheath gowns have become over the past few years. Chic, modern, and effortlessly elegant, this style of dress can go from a backyard wedding to a Santa Fe Plaza wedding to an art gallery wedding to an elopement in the mountains! We love how this minimalist design can be paired with a simple jeweled belt or a lace overlay to make it even more gorgeous. Shout out to one of the most universally flattering designs out there, we can’t wait for more brides to shine in sheath gowns!

Brad + Kenna, a New Mexico Elopement
We never get to shoot a ton of elopements so when Brad and Kenna asked us to photograph them in the New Mexico desert after legally becoming husband and wife we were over the moon!
These two met while Kenna was working as a nurse in the Emergency Department and Brad was working as a paramedic. They first noticed each other on the job, but nearly a month went by before either of them made a move! Brad asked Kenna out for their first date and they ended having their second date on the evening of their first. The rest between these two is history and now four years later they have a furry baby Oso and can’t wait to spend forever together!
Brad and Kenna also invited us to capture their fun rustic reception at Old Town Farm this November and honestly we can’t wait for more of these cuties! Congrats babes!
